Influenced by the aesthetic delights she experienced while living and gardening with her grandparents throughout her childhood, Britt Malec creates whimsical work that explores themes of connection, resilience, domesticity, motherhood, and mortality through a mystical naturalist lens.

Her work is interdisciplinary and contains elements of botanical illustration, portraiture, memoir, Slavic folk art, ethnobotany and song.

She is interested in examining what cultivating a relationship with the land around us can teach us about our connection to our home, our bodies and our kin.
